Summary This is a comfortable, loft-like apartment with modern amenities in a 19th century brick building. Located in downtown Northampton it offers round-the-corner access to coffee shops, restaurants, grocery stores, boutiques, bookstores and public transportation. Views from the roof deck and its shady pergola are spectacular... well worth the walk up to the 4th floor. About this member I was born in England but spent most of my life in Geneva, Switzerland. Ten years ago, after early retirement, I moved to New York to be near my children. In 2006 I followed my daughter and family to Northampton. My son and his family are still in NYC. Number of adults: 1 Number of children: Alumni of school: No Languages spoken English, French, some Italian and German Interests Modern and contemporary art and architecture, baroque and classical music; making fiber art is an absorbing pastime. About our town Northampton is a small but lively town with a vibrant cultural life thanks to the presence of five colleges: Smith College, right here, and Amherst College, UMass Amherst, Hampshire College and Mount Holyoke in nearby Amherst and South Hadley. Surrounded by rolling agricultural land and wooded hills, the town offers an attractive balance between urban animation and peaceful countryside.
